About Us

Julie & Mark, Your Mountain Vacation Hosts

A Family Business, Rooted in the Mountains

Your Mountain Vacation is owned and personally operated by us, Julie and Mark, through Horizon Investment Properties LLC.

We chose all three cabins, we care for them, and we stay in them ourselves. Knowing each home personally, means we truly understand where our guests are staying, what amenities are available to them, and the kinds of experiences they can enjoy during their stay. We aren’t looking at a file of a random property, without actual knowledge about the home. We spend time at our cabins and we have created our own family memories and experiences at each one.

We handle every reservation and every guest message. When you book with us, you’re not messaging a call center. You’re talking with us, the actual people who own, set up, and maintain these homes.

Our three cabins have earned 463 guest reviews across Airbnb, VRBO, and our Direct Booking site, averaging 4.9 stars, with Airbnb Superhost status and "Guest Favorite" recognition on every listing. We intend to keep it that way, guest by guest, stay by stay.

Our Cabins

Thoughtfully Set Up, Down to the Details

Each of our cabins is set up with families, couples, and friends in mind, ensuring guests of every age feel comfortable, relaxed, and free to have fun. That shows up in the details: limited breakables, step stools for little ones, games and activities at every cabin, and long-range mountain views. We even label the kitchen cabinets and drawers, so you can find what you need right away and settle in, feeling right at home.

Our focus is creating spaces where our guests can relax, connect, and make meaningful memories.

Our Story

How We Got Here

We met back in college, in a Family Dynamics class. We’ve been married for over 22 years and we have two daughters, a dog named Roxy, and a rabbit named Henry.

Our journey of owning vacation rentals started over 14 years ago. For most of that time a local property management company handled the day-to-day, but we have always been engaged as the owners. When life’s circumstances changed, it gave us the opportunity to begin self-managing in June 2024, and we have loved it. Getting to communicate and engage with our guests directly has been the best part.

We do not think of these homes as rentals. They are our family’s homes. They are in communities we care about and they are stocked with intention. You’ll find an abundance of cookware, dishes, appliances, and amenities, because we want you to have everything you need to rest, cook, connect, and have fun.

We hope the time, thought, and energy we put into our cabins creates an opportunity for connection and meaningful experiences for you, our guests.
